A Brief Explanation Of Monotropism

The theory of monotropism suggests that Autistic people tend to apply their attentional resources more deeply across a narrower range of demands and stimuli. It was conceptualised in the early 1990's by Dinah Murray, Wenn Lawson, and Mike Lesser and then pubpished in the earlg 2000's, and positioned as a “unifying theory of autism”. In the tike since, it has come to be embraced by people with a range of neurocognitive styles including ADHD and Schizophrenic people.
