As a member of the human race, I have been raised on the idea that I need to find my purpose. In fact, much of the human search for knowledge has been to serve the purpose of why we are here. One could argue that basis of westernised religion is one of a search for meaning in our own existence. The truth of the matter is more complicated than humanity having a higher purpose.
