Neuronormative Oppression And How To Escape It

Neuronormativity is more than a set of cultural standards. The idea that we must all think, behave, and experience the world in a particular way is a weaponised ideology designed to entrap us in a system that upholds the inequality we are forced to live with.

Neurotypicality and neurodivergence are somewhat redundant in terms of the impact of neuronormativity. Neurotypical performance is complicity, while neurodivergence is defined by it's proximity to said normativity. No matter who we are or what our neurocognitive style is, we are compared and evaluated by neuronormative standards. The greater one’s distance from those standards, the lower your systemic value.

In this regard, neuronormativity is not a passive and socially constructed set of standards or behaviours. It is a curated and honestly weapon of oppression targeted at not just neurodivergence individuals, but anyone who lacks immense privilege in society. While it differs somewhat depending on your geographical location, it remains a tool of mass subjugation.

Neuronormativity is the unspoken endgoal of instiutionalised eugenics.
