It seems that everyday a new wellness trend emerges. Whether it's a type of exercise, a diet, a programme, or a supplement, we are sold the idea that by engaging with it we can have better health and longevity.
The wellness industry is now worth billions, and is often built on the idea that western medicine can not be trusted.
In this live discussion and Q+A myself and Kelly Mahler will discuss how you can choose what feels right for you, and why we should be cautious about following trends in the absence of robust evidence.
This is not a lecture. Nor will we follow a strict path. It’s a space to reflect, question, and reconnect. I’d love for you to join us.
Here’s some of what we might dig into:
How wellness trends are often manipulated and marketed
Why neurodivergent and disabled folks may be especially vulnerable to wellness culture
What red flags to watch for in wellness messaging (overpromising, pseudoscience, ableism, cultural appropriation)
How interoception might help us reclaim wellness from the inside out
You can register and join us for this discussion for $15. The event is on August 28th at 10am EST, or 3pm UK time. Can't make it? A recording will be available to ticket holders for 180 after the event with unlimited access.
